APM :: VMware View :: Blast Extreme
Anybody have any luck getting Blast Extreme configured for VMware View and APM via Horizon Client? Currently we launch the Horizon client via webtop link (vdi/rdp) and PCoIP is tunneled through the F5 via udp/4172... but our systems engineers are looking to upgrade to Blast Extreme, and I know NOTHING about how it works with the F5. Not too much on the interwebs in regards to this relationship.
Is it just a matter of creating another virtual server on the BIG-IP and assigning the VDI profile? Or does the protocol work on TCP/443 and F5 just knows what to do with it on the existing virtual server?
Thanks-

Hi Dariusz, I'd really be interested in how you achieved that on 12.1. Can you share your config?

Any answers to the question by Angelo Jimenez:
"Is anyone aware when the new iApp template for VMware View will be released to support BLAST Extreme (UDP) since version 14.0 was released on August 10, 2018?"
Sincerely, Yury Magalif

Hey Yuri, I do not have an exact timeline but it should be releasing soon. Just FYI i have also posted a blog article on how to implement the Blast UDP functionality with 14.0 manually.

Hope this helps!

The Final Doc for LTM + UAG is being reviewed by my tech writers, and should hopefully be posted within the next week or two on the EUC website.
-> End User Computing (tab) -> Integration Guides.
I just got the AppVolumes one uploaded there the other day gonna post a bigger post about it soon :)

Hey All,
Currently F5 Supports the TCP side of Blast Extreme through the APM Proxy, we will have the UDP side of Blast Extreme is road mapped for our 14.0 code release.
The latest IAPP and documentation create a 443 TCP vip that the Blast Extreme TCP code will flow through today. When we release the Blast Extreme UDP Code the iAPP and documentation will be updated to allow these ports.
For LTM mode with Blast Extreme, a couple of additional VIPs are required to be created, i am working on a documentation that should be released here soon on how to incorporate Blast Extreme TCP/UDP with LTM and VMware Unified Access Gateway.
Hopefully this answers your questions

Has anyone been able to get this to work?

Hi, Any updates on Blast Extreme support for APM? IHAC customer that wants to use APM instead of VMware Unified Access Gateway. But if Blast Extreme isn't support they have to go with UAG.

Did you get this working? It used 443 TCP but UDP 8443 from my findings. Has F5 updated their iApp for this?
