AOM to View Boot Sequence

I have configured AOM on LTM. I would like to watch the boot sequence while connected to AOM. This way, if there is an issue with booting, I can select the boot partition. Is this possible? I noticed while connected to both AOM and LTM CLI, rebooting from LTM CLI, does not produce any output in AOM connection.

  • Issue the command 'full_box_reboot' from bash shell and it'll restart the entire system, then you can select the partition to boot into and watch it all load.

  • I issued the 'full_box_reboot' from the CLI (SSH). However, I do not see any boot messages on my AOM connection. My plan is to use the AOM similar to a CONSOLE connection.

  • How are you accessing the AOM? Did you assign an IP address to it and monitoring through SSH, or are you consoled into the appliance? Do you see any output from AOM at all?

  • Odd. Can you access the AOM menu using the escape sequence?

    Esc (

If not, you may have AOM configured incorrectly.

  • That is the article that I used to setup AOM and I can access AOM by SSH to the AOM IP.

I am trying to be connected to AOM and a separate connection to LTM IP. When I issue the reboot command, I'm trying to use AOM as a console session where I can watch the box boot (in AOM) similarly to connecting via CONSOLE.

  • Ok. I have found by issuing the command hostconsh, I am able to watch the system reboot in AOM connection. I can say that the option to select the boot partition is not as clean as doing it via the console session. But, it works. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
