Adding a Route Domain to system with Existing Default Route Domain

Simple question here. I am trying to understand if it's possible to just add a Route Domain to the system that is already configured with Default route domain 0? WE are trying to consolidate hardware and have another environment running on the same hardware while maintaining strict isolation. Would any changes need to be done to environment in RD0?
