AD Accounts and Authentication
I attempted to do the bigip call with my AD account / password. My AD account is effectively an administrator. However, I get a 401 from the F5 unit that I am logged in to as administrator. I had to use the built-in admin account to perform any create actions. bc

Hi Bill,
which type of authentication method are you using LDAP ? Are the setting correctly configured . Is the authentication server reachable from BIGIP ?
Thanks

Yes, it is set up correctly. I can log into the management UI with my AD id and password. Set's me to administrator role. However, on the admin user can do iControlREST updates or creates. Worked as expected when I was using local DB for the authentication. For grins, I used the old local db user id/password that worked before I set up AD. It also fails with a 401. bc
