DevCentral to Require Multi-Factor Authentication for Account Login from September 26
Hi everyone,
In order to provide additional security protections for both customers and F5 systems, F5 will soon require multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access all F5 sites, accounts, applications, and products that require login – including DevCentral.
MFA is an authentication method that requires the user to provide two or more verification factors to gain access to an online account or resource. Rather than asking only for a username and password, F5 will now require a secondary verification factor, which greatly decreases the likelihood of a successful cyberattack.
While you already need to use MFA in order to log in to F5 Labs and the Unified Demo Framework (UDF), beginning September 12 26, 2023 DevCentral will require you to enter a secondary authentication code, which will be generated by your smartphone or sent to your email. This will allow us to better-secure things like PII, and supports future planned integrations and experiences.
To set up two-step authentication, users will be asked to enroll with one (or more) of the following authentication methods:
- Google Authenticator
- Email Factor Enrollment
