ACE to LTM probe/monitor hash equivalent?

Hello All,

Recently we moved from our ace's to f5's for the loadbalancing. Everything works fine but have one issue at the moment i can't seem to figure out. On the ace we had a hash check on our probe to see if the content of the checked-page is changes. Ifso -> Down. On the F5's I can't seem to figure it out..

Our health monitors at the moment look like:

Send string GET /something/loadbalancer.html HTTP/1.1\r\nHost: \r\nConnection: Close\r\n\r\n

Receive String 200 OK

The problem with this is if IIS has a custom 503 error page for example it still receives a 200 OK.. so he thinks it is still alive.

Thanks in advanced for thinking with me.

  • Hi,

Why do you not change the content of "receive string" to something that exists only when is a real successful request (e.g. welcome, hello)? Otherwise, you can flag the monitor as reverse and set "Error" in the receive string value. This field is a regex, so, you can do something more complex.

    Just some tips, Regards
