About SSL-Performance of BIG-IP

Hello,

 

i am wondering why the SSLperformance (TPS) for ECC is less than for RSA. If you look in the datasheet of the i5820 the TPS for ECC is about 20k and for RSA about 35k. Can anyone explain to me? Thx in advance.

    i believe that is because ECC is done by the CPU and RSA in dedicated SSL hardware.

    do remember this is the value for a specific ECDSA P-256 size, for others your account manager might be able to help out.
