6900 runs at 600K Active Connections per second

Our 6900 shows it's running with 600K Active Conns per second, while from the 6900 platform spec https://www.f5.com/pdf/products/big-ip-platforms-datasheet.pdf L4 connections per second is only 220K.

Most of our virtual servers are configured with fastL4 profile, and over 80% of the connections are from busy DNS servers, so mostly UDP, which with fastl4 timeout value set to 5 seconds.

Also, is there a way to find out layer 7 request per second of the platform?

Here is the graph:

  • The graph shows "Active Connections", which can go into the Millions. That is not a graph for Connections Per Second.

  • Thanks, that's good to know. How to find the layer 4 Connections Per second, and layer 7 request per second, basically I need to know if our unit is over-loaded by compare our number with the specs.

Does the New Connections is the graph for Connections Per Second?

    Thanks again!
