Sometimes I get an email notification from devcentral that someone has replied to a thread I am following and I think that I could just reply by mail, instead of opening a browser. Hi DevCentral Team, I think it's good if u guys can bring back a series article list as before. I understand that we can search the keyword "Series" but it's not organized well as a list and parts of an article as before. From the user perspective (like me) I can not remember exactly the keyword such as http-series, ssl-series ... DevCentral Issues: Thread/Post Flagging & Mobile Device
Friends, This is for the DevCentral team really, but hope it also helps others mention some issues or suggestions for site improvement. In the past few weeks, I have noticed the following issues: - Checking private messages, there is an option unde the gears for 'report as inappropriate'. However, I dont see a similar option for either a thread or a reply - currently we have a few threads about Fox news propaganda and muscle relaxantats. - When posting via mobile device, I *always* get the following error on the first attempt to hit reply after typing in data: -- Correct the highlighted errors and try again: "Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied." Then sometimes when I click reply a second time, I get an error on too many posts or something like that. Also happens when I try to send a private message! So I can only use my Mac and browser... rather than mobile device with Brave or Safari. - I wanted to use a label 'devcentral' on this post, but was unable to. Additionally, I didnt see any specific forum section for posting these particular concerns. Hello all , I hope you are all fine, Because not all F5 users aren't native in English , I suggest to use something like Microsoft word to detect any wrong spelled word to make it easy for the writer to modify while writing an answer in technical forum or adding technical Article. Hi DevCentral Team, the DevCentral search is very hard to use. Whoever or whatever you search, the matching results wont highlight / reference the exact post where the search pattern matches, the reference will be always the entire conversation and the original question would be highlighted... Wanted to give you a bit more detailed suggestion so you can communicate with your React developer (LOVE React btw, good choice). What he/she could do is to attach an effect hook to the text field which looks for something like this: Then you could attach a banner to the top/bottom of the form saying: "Hey, looks like you're attaching some TCL code. Removing Codeshare will confuse the community base. My suggestions are as follows... Rename CrowdSRC to Codeshare. Instead of having User Submitted Articles under there as well, move them to Articles under a new TAB at the top of the page called "User Submitted" and have article search search them both.Add a "Sort by: Latest comments" filter to the Forum
Hi DevCentral Team, it sometimes happens that questions are pushed out of the first screen of the DevCentral forum while being still actively used. The DevCentral forum sorts the posts purely based on the date of the original question and not based on lastest comments. This makes it basically impossible to spot new comments made to rather old questions... The setting "My settings : Preferences : General : Sort topics by" seems to be broken. Even if the mode is set to "Time of most recent post" it will still prefer postings via "Original posting date". The "Sorted by:" drop down menu on the forums start page does also not include a filter to sort by "Latest changes/comments". It would be cool if you implement a functionality to display the most recent changes in the forum independently if the change was a new post or a new comment to an existing post. Hellooooooooo fair traveller! I speak to you from the dark days before the world was enlightened, when men were men and women were legendary... When people posted a message and everyone gasped in wonder and amazement at this new electronic medium but no one could see or experience those reactions because there was no means to do so! A whole subculture of though and shared communities was denied us but no more! Spin forward to 2020 and the world has moved on, communities can post a thought and get peoples reactions, emotions, amazement, you get the gist. The most common representation of these feeeeelings.... was an emoticon. A simple yet positve way for people to express their feeling about something. A way to share the love, the laughter, the sadness and humanity of your community. Yet here we are in 2022 with the most advanced increditble and amazing community software in the world today yet we are denied this simple avenue for human emotion ... in a community no less! I cannot fathom how such decisions are made so point me sir! to the most terrible and dangerous dragon that created such fear in the hearts of man and woman! I will leap onto my glorious steed, pull out my longsword and charge with a yell to slay thee for you all! Then with mead in hand, sit and drink with my friends from devcentral telling tales of time where emotion was not allowed, people were not permitted to express their appreciation and we can all laugh at a time so long in the past.... it became just another legend!Proposal: Editing CrowdSRC article "bumps" it in the list
One thing that I liked with the old site was that when I released a new version of BigIPReport the article ended up at the top. As it is now I feel it's harder for people to find the project and releasing a new version kind of gets forgotten amongst the old articles. If you want a thriving Code Share I'd propose that updating an article sends it to the top of the list. It'd also make sense to me to separate code contributions to Crowd sources technical articles as they are two fundamentally different beasts. If I want to find new cool/helpful tools it would not make sense to sift through BigIQ How-to's to find what I am looking for.
Community Moderators ?
Wouldn't it be a good idea to bring moderators group in the forum, where a certain privileges allow the moderators to close a thread (when it's already answered) or mark a thread as duplicate, delete phishing posts. There are so many active users, who would like to contribute for this forum. Just a food for thought.

Email Digest/Newsletter with DevCentral Articles and Forum posts?
Hi community, Sometimes I get emails like summary digests or newsletters that sends content directly to my inbox. I was wondering if this is something we should consider implementing for DevCentral too. Would you be interested in getting articles/videos/forum posts emailed to you? CSRs generated from the web UI could include Entended Key Usage requests.
I generated CSRs using the web gui to send to our CA, to replace new device certs. The new certs came back without the client-auth Extended Key Usage attribute set. The documentation is quite clear that it must be, so it's my fault for not communicating that to the CA. But if the CSR had included that EKU in the Requested Extensions, then I wouldn't have had to remember (at least, if my CA honored the request...)RobMMar 29, 2022

Hello Folks, I have a suggestion for creating a vulnerability dashboard in devCentral It will be good, in Devcentral we can find latest CVE IDs that affecting F5 and suggested fixes . As of now, attacks are very high and if we are able to check latest vulnerabilities and F5 suggestion in this community, it will be very much helpfull. As of now i have to wait for my scanning devices reports to check CVEs in F5 KBs. If there is a path in devCentral for the same, it will be very helpfull. I have request to add new feature in AFM or improve it. In our environment, we have enabled DOS protections for device and applications (Log profiles added to system and application DOS policies). Splunk is our remote log server, and we are creating a dashboard in the same to analysis the DOS syslog’s. (Use cases-For checking the attack counts, most attacked application, severity and IP status(malicious)). But when we are checking, all syslog’s severity that F5 sharing to Splunk shows as “4”. We have compared the attack id in F5 and Splunk (F5 its showing “2” , in Splunk its “4”) Requested feature: - If F5 consider a traffic is a DOS, then change severity value to “1/2/3” is syslog’s. As now all the syslog severity is 4 and its not helped if we analysis the logs in a third-party tool. 2. What is the problem that would be resolved by adding this new feature? We can monitor and analysis the DOS attacks from remote servers (SIEM tools). Also, it will help to create security incident with help of SOC. 3. What is the business impact to your site due to the lack of this? We are not able monitor DOS logs properly. We have a virtual server, VS IP (172.23.103.178) Service port (9080) Also we have two nodes for the nodes we have set load balancing method (least connection members), When we request traffic, after some time, it times out on my screen. F5-Journeys for Windows PCs
iHealth was a tool to compare between images and configs to help customers don't miss any missing feature on higher major images. Currently F5 Journeys is providing this comparison, but a Linux box is a must since this is how documentations and configs are provided to install the tool. It may be a good thing to consider windows only user that may not be able to get ahold of a linux box. Can we please consider this? This has happened to me twice now, and it makes me not want to use this site. On the mobile site, since I usually try to do all of my work via the phone or an ipad, it strips everything after a mention (when referencing a user). I have had two complex and thoughful responses stripped when the classic HTML issue or whatever the hell I get. Why cant we just use CDATA fields to encapsulate some of this stuff and sanitize it better when it is referenced for display on the site? The parser is truly garbage.Shade new posts in a thread
When i get a link that a thread has been updated it would be nice that the new posts in that thread have a soft background color to differentiate them from all the existing posts. Hello Everyone, Sometimes we need to save our configuration after big modifications to a stable point. I know that we can take auser configuraton set "UCS" to save our Configuration with the new modification , But what about defining a new object or a stable point which I can save the new configuartion to it after making sure that all services and the Device work well without issues. I suggest this because in busy networks such as ISPs , The governments or Banks ..etc which have several numbers of F5 appliances with multiple administarors to configure these appliances and maintain a huge number of Critical services. So I suggest to define a " Rescue point " and save the new configuration to after validation that all services work well after new changes in configuration files or any change to F5 appliance at all , this will enable us to rollback any new changes that impacted running services or F5 resources .... etc. To show my suggestion more : - when we need to create UCS file We issue ( #tmsh save sys ucs UCS_NAME.ucs ) so similarly we can issue new command to define a " Rescue point " Like this (#tmsh save sys Rescue ) and issue such this command ( #tmsh load sys Rescue ) to rollback again to Rescue point which is a validated stable point for F5 system at all. Briefly : Defining a stable point we can call it the " Rescue point " which contains a Good status for configuration and running services , and Returning back to it again if anyone made a change that impacted the running services. Also If a Compare option added to F5 to see the difference between " Rescue Configurations " and " New added Configuration " to see exactly what added to F5 Configuration made this impact. Also this will help to restore impacted services quickly without the need of Loading UCS files. This suggestion not a replacement for UCS files , it’s only a light way can help for quick services Restoration , facilitating troublshooting or to be another option for Administrators to Backup their valid changes.

So I have signed up to the daily digest emails for some of the forums and groups here. Which means content is mixed if two posts are discussed at the same time. This becomes quite a long email and depending on the replies tricky to follow. On another similar website I get a similar daily email that starts like this: Discussions started 3 days ago, name1 (1 reply) Product integration with Securly MDM external link to thread view 1. I have not seen such an integration. You may ask... name3 started 8 days ago, name2 (11 replies) Product - Connecting from VPN with RDP external link to thread view 2. Did you see this video < name3 3. Yes, I have just seen the first video you... name2 4. any switching of VLANs breaks things like login... name4 So not the full content yet, but a summary per subject with the replies in order and quick first line. After that it will list the full posts, but this first section often is enough to see what I want to look into further. Also makes it easy to spot posts without replies. For the people that use the Daily Digest (are there any more than me?), is this something you would like to see?Add optional information fields to member profiles

We have roughly a dozen or more F5 appliances and numberous tenants. We were hoping to utilize BigIQ to manage everything from a single pane of glass, but have run into a feature option where we aren't able to add nodes via FQDN. Hi DevCentral Team, the usable width of DevCentral content is sometimes very limited. Especially if you enable "Threaded format"(default mode) and post an iRule snipped far deep into a conversation, the <PRE> formated content will become hard to read. Thanks to annoying word-wraps... TBH... i dont know a single developer which is turning on "word wrap" just to read the code better on very small monitors. Hi DevCentral Team, The mandatory "review" step is slighly annoying and somehow kills the dynamic of Codeshares. Why do I have to wait a few days till the CodeShare is published and why do I have to wait another few days to correct a simple typo? Example: iRule based RADIUS Health Monitor Builder - DevCentral (f5.com) The Github link at the buttom of the Codeshare got somehow broken during initial publishing. I immediately corrected the link, but now having to wait another couple days till its review is done? Why even review a CodeShare if such broken links are not detected before approving it? Want to report a bug. Running on a MacBook 16" 2021, latest version of Safari I am unable to edit my replies/comments on Devcentral. No error message, failed XHR or js exception. I asked a question on another vendor's forum, got a reply and had some back and forth for clarification. That was enough for me, but some days later I got an auto generated email asking if the question was answered and if yes if I could flag it as such. Totally forgot to do so at the end, but of course did so at that moment. Which seems like a useful function, and I would like to see here to raise the number of answered questions.
