5 TopicsDo Topology records execute and direct traffic regardless of GSLB pools assigned under a Wide IP?
Hello F5ers, My question is around Big-IP DNS and how topology records would work in case multiple records match the traffic. My understanding is Big-IP DNS would not direct client requests to non assigned pools under the WIP regardless of topology record match. I would really appreciate if someone can confirm my understanding or if i'm missing something. Lets get to it, I have below setup, WIPs: WIP-A assigned with GSLB-Pool-A1 and GSLB-Pool-A2 WIP-B assigned with GSLB-Pool-B1 and GSLB-Pool-B2 Current Topology records: -If State is Idaho, Pool is GSLB-Pool-A1 -If State is not Idaho, Pool is GSLB-Pool-A2 -If IP subnet is 10.0.0.0/8, Pool is GSLB-Pool-B1 -If IP subnet is not 10.0.0.0/8, Pool is GSLB-Pool-B2 Now, If a request comes to WIP-A from a user who is in Idaho (State is Idaho) but on their home network (is not 10.0.0.0/8), the topology records would only load balance to pools assigned under the WIP-A right? The request would never hit a pool which is not assigned to the WIP right (in this case GSLB-Pool-B2)? Any help is appreciated! Thanks662Views0likes0CommentsGTM and LTM Virtual Server Service Ports
I'm trying to create a Wide IP for one of my company's applications and the application uses multiple TCP ports where each port serves a different and independent purpose. On my LTM, I have set up the Pools and the Virtual Servers for this: LTM @ Data Centre A VS 1: 10.1.0.100 Service Port: 80 (HTTP) VS 2: 10.1.0.100 Service Port: 443 (HTTPS) LTM @ Data Centre B VS 1: 10.2.0.100 Service Port: 80 (HTTP) VS 2: 10.2.0.100 Service Port: 443 (HTTPS) What I want to do now is to create a Wide IP DNS called to load balance between these two data centres. I already have the LTMs linked up to my GTM. The problem I face is that when I try to create a pool for the two IPs, I go to: Global Traffic > Pools > Pool List > Create Name: sample_pool Member List: <<< When I try to choose a member, I notice that all the members come with Service Ports tied to them. There isn't a way to add a member without a service port and here's the issue. If I add a member from Data Centre A and a member from Data Centre B both with service port 443, doesn't this mean that if port 443 becomes unavailable at any one Data Centre, the GTM will mark the member as unavailable even if port 80 is still up? I want the GTM to be able to still send traffic to Data Centre A even if 443 is down as long as 80 is up (and vice versa).663Views0likes2CommentsWay to configure a Static Wide-IP pool member?
Is there a way to include a member of a Wide-IP pool that is not tied to a monitored resource? I.E. Hardcoding that you want the answer to be "x.x.x.x" and "y.y.y.y" to any request that the Wide-IP Handles? I've tried de-selecting the 'Verify Member Availability" in the pool configuration but the Wide-IP doesn't serve up the pool members as answers to queries if that member is in fact not "alive" from the perspective of the F5-DNS server.230Views0likes1CommentLC Wide-IP Config problems(Virtual Servers Not Listed)
Hi I have observed an anomaly in the LC module I have here. Well, I could say that because I did all am supposed to do right and it's not turning up as expected. I need help please. I have configured the virtual servers and they are even marked "available" I need to configure the Inbound wide-IP but the virtual servers are not being listed in the Wide-IP config screen. Please help with this. I have done everything exactly as stated in all manuals consulted. The virtual server is UP but, not listed! And you can't config a wide-IP without the virtual server. Thanks for your reliable assistance.277Views0likes3CommentsCreate a Wide-IP in the "Member list" does not appear any virtual server to associate.
Hello People, I'm a licensed equipment and provisioned with the LC version 11.6HF3 and when i create a Wide-IP in the "Member list" does not appear any virtual server to associate. Recalling that created the Virtual Server to the association, do not know if you have any specific configuration to create the Virtual Server to get to my associate Wide-IP. Would like you guys to help. Thank U.384Views0likes4Comments
