F5 BIG-IP Virtual Edition v11.4.1 (Build 635.0) LTM on ESXi I suppose this is more of a nw question than a BIG-IP question. I am testing http requests against our prod website from a client located within our corporate nw. On my prod f5 virtual-server I have a diagnostic irule which writes this log : log local0. "Client [IP::client_addr]:[TCP::client_port]" However, BIG-IP logs a client-ip different than my client's static-ip. I believe traffic is being NAT'd before routing externally and arriving at our prod DC. How can I setup a test client so that BIG-IP logs the true ip ? ( my client's static-ip )398Views0likes4CommentsDid Serverssl profile require certificate?
Hi We want to use F5 as SSL bridging (Decrypt using ssl client profile and re-encrypt using serverssl profile) Problem is our server using self-sign root certificate and certificate name is IP server (eg. 10.10.10.1 ) How do we config SSL server profile ? Should we just choose None on certificate setting? Should we import self-sign root certificate server using into BIG-IP? where to import? I have been asked to implement a client cert check with external CA's and if the check passes then pass through the client cert Subject DN to the backend application for checking and action by application. I am an F5 newbie but from my reading I don't want to have to create a certificate bundle on the device as it will need updated as the CA's change. Any help about how this can be done quickly would be appreciated. I have a pentest scheduled and I want to do a cert check fail and pass Thanks Richard261Views0likes1CommentRemove the Select Client popup from VMware Horizon iApp
Due to security controls, we must have all users use web based HTML (BLAST) access to VDI sessions. The iApp works great, except when you launch a desktop it show a popup to requesting the user select a client (either VMware Horizon or HTML5 Client). I have gone though the iApp template () and cannot find any reference to the popup. I have looked through the APM policy, session-policy and Webtops to see if it there, but I can't seem to find it. Any ideas how to disable this popup?454Views0likes1CommentWindows Edge Client to NOT remember username and OTP form fields?
Hi all, I only allow Edge Client installed on laptops to connect to F5 APM's Virtual Server. To capture user credentials, a small browser window will pop-up to capture username and password. With the no-password-caching setting, the password form field will always be blank. However, I realize the username field is always populated with previous username and the OTP field is also populated (black dots) with previous pass code. I have even tried editing the Internet Explorer setting to not auto-complete or remember form fields. Any idea on this? Thanks!289Views0likes1CommentCan I direct the ASM Violation Response to an API instead of direct to the Client?
Using either the ASM response pages or an iRule, is it possible to direct the response from the F5 to an API of my choice rather than replying directly to the client? This would allow the Dev to work with the response and serve the client crafted content. Thank you240Views0likes1CommentF5 ASM - Client Session Record

I am able to set up VPN with BIG IP Edge application, also with SSL VPN portal, but I am not able to connect with Windows 8.1 Inbox client. I have valid certificate from SSL.com for domain name, I am using non standard port - 8444 Other configuration are almost default. Situation is like this: domain.name - with valid certificate DNAT on public IP with port 8444 - on Juniper firewall to APM portal site to port 443 Case 1: using BIG IP edge client: Everything works fine Case 2: Using Web browser Firefox - everything works fine Case 3: Using windows 8.1 Inbox client: Get popup for credentials, if I enter wrong I get message about it, if I enter good crenedtials I get error: Unable to complete VPN connection. For creating VPN in box connection I use PowerShell with this configuration: $xml = "8444" $sourceXml=New-Object System.Xml.XmlDocument $sourceXml.LoadXml($xml) Add-VpnConnection -Name F5_vpn_port_8444 -ServerAddress Hidden(public fqdn) -SplitTunneling $True -PluginApplicationID F5.vpn.client_cw5n1h2txyewy -CustomConfiguration $sourceXml317Views0likes1Comment
