201 Recommendations for Study
Hello mates, I am a new member of the forum😀 I have to retake my 201 exam again in February and it´s been a while since the last time I touch a F5 device. I tried to look for the PDF which, as I remember, it was pretty solid material for the exam and the last time, I was able to pass the exam at the first attempt by only using the study guide and a F5 device I had on the lab. Feature Request: host-identified node groups
In the current setup – for LTM, each interface on back-end, resource servers (nodes) is registered on the F5 system. In the event that a system has multiple interfaces, they would each require to be registered to the Node List - if the requirement exists. When you need to disable the system for maintenance, you have to track down each node related to the system and make the change. This could be simplified by providing a grouping feature which provides simple access to disabling, forcing a device offline, or enabling them. Rather than update several nodes for the system, just perform the action at the group – and the LTM could propagate the update to associated nodes.
Restricted access on the F5 for a specific set of users.
Folks, What are the options to restrict users to only enable/disable pool member on the F5. e.g. in our case we want to create additional users on the F5 but these users should get access only to enabling/disabling pool members. It would be an added advantage of this is restricted to certain pools only and if this can be achieved through integration with Microsoft AD. Thanks, N.
After licensing APM some log_xxxxxx files are created in /var/local/ucs
Hi there, As the subject says, I've licensed the APM module for testing purpouses. Since the same day I activated the module I've notice that every day, at 04:03, files with the name pattern log_xxxxxx are created in the /var/local/ucs directory. The xxxxxx seem random, as in log_wqxzjg, and the files are UCS files. I guess that these files are related with some component of the APM module, but I don't know why are created and if I can disable it because the files are created but not rotated and after some days the disk volume mounted in /var gets full and I have to delete them manually. So, any idea on this? Which component is creating them? are they really UCS files from an APM scheduled process? are they temporary files that aren't deleted? Thanks!
