HTTP Profile stops https working

Hello,

Please help?

We have configured the F5 loadbalancer with a virtual server to serve two web servers.

Using http profile we are able to access the web servers on port 80, send and recieve web pages. We have enabled X-Forwarded-For to allow to see orignating client IP for back end reports. However when we attempt to access the webserver over https (443) the request it not forwarded by BIG-IP. When we don't use http profile it works fine but fails to send X-Forwarded-For.

How can we get both to work.

Thanks in advance.

Shaz

If you want to add the X-Forwarded-for header with an SSL (443) VIP, you'll need to configure a Client-SSL profile to decrypt the data at the BIG-IP so the header can be inserted.

  • Hi Colin,

    Many thanks for your message.

Do you by any chance have the manual that explains this process? We have set the Client_SSL, but this stops the web pages from being displayed.

    Thank you,
