Thx to both Lori and Jason for the replied and links - this is indeed a more pressing problem that needs a solution especially when then mantra is SSL everywhere, but from a security standpoint to capture and inspect everything as well. From some other reading, it appears SDN will allow the possibility to create a cloned flow if you will that is then sent off to the various security devices, but the issue there is you're inspecting traffic almost after the fact and if something is discovered then it's too late. Jason, thx for the link on diverting the traffic through an IPS with the Local Traffic Manager. Bookmarked that solution!
