Why is the virtual edition of F5 BIG-IP configuration utility causing network issues on the host computer?
I have deployed the F5 BIG-IP Virtual Edition (BIGIP-12.0.0.1.0.628.ALL-scsi) within VMware Workstation on my home PC (32G RAM 3.5 Quad Core Intel Processor). I have followed the instructions of the hack-it yourself auction to install the VM; however, whenever I connect to the configuration utility with a web browser it causes my network connection to become unstable... For example, when running a continuous ping I get intermittent drops to 8.8.8.8 directly after connecting to the configuration utility on BIG-IP VE.

not 100% Vmware workstation is formally supported. as for the cause, it could be a misconfiguration in your setup cause traffic to loop or send a wrong way. will be dificult to solve without actually investigating the system. i assume this is for labs only so it might be just something to accept.

Thank you for your reply. I will play around with the virtual network editor and see if I can somehow work around it.
