Why did my F5 lose it's default route??
We experienced a strange outage yesterday. From a client running Outlook we could not reach (ping) the Exchange server (one of two pool members) - the Self IP on the F5 reported the destination as being unreachable. Upon investigation it appears that the default route had been removed although nobody did this. Is there anything which might have caused this? Also, where are the user logs? Thank you.

cant imagine anything else then a configuration change. in principle it is always possible some config corruption occurred but that chance is very small.
if the logging is correct you could check /var/log/audit
i also dont quite your scenario, if the selfIP reports a destination unreachable then the client - bigip communication is fine. is the default route configured towards the exchange servers?

It is now thank you. The default route domain for the Common partition had to be re-added. I cannot understand how it was removed.
