Where do I begin to develop a SSL web portal for remote employees?
Hi Folks,
My company has asked me to migrate a SSL web portal function off from an old Cisco ASA to our F5 LTM. Remote users can currently use their active directory credentials to log into a web portal and gain access to certain file servers and even mount drives.
We have the an active APM license and it is provisioned as Normal.
We are running LTM with version BIG-IP 11.6.0 build 5.0.429 hf Hf5.
I'm the administrator for all of the load balancing but I haven't done anything like this before on F5.
Can someone point me in the right direction to get started?
Thanks, Ed

Hi Ed,
You can start with having a look at APM's Network Access (VPN). Network Access can require users to authenticate to AD like you mentioned before providing access to internal resources. It is worth mentioning that APM does not have a web interface for file server access like other products (FirePass, Juniper, etc.)
BIG-IP Access Policy Manager: Network Access
If you'd like to expedite the deployment with the help of F5 Professional Services, you can check out our Consulting OnDemand service.
Hope that helps,

I would also check out https://university.f5.com and get familiar with the APM classes. That was a big help for me.
