When does a persistence timeout renew?

Say I have an 8 hour timeout on a Source IP persistence profile. If that 8 hour timeout is reached while a user is working in the app, does the timer reset back to 0 hours and start counting up again? Or is the timeout behavior different?

    The timeout is idle-timeout i.e., the user has to be inactive for 8 hours for the persistence record to be removed by F5. As long as the user is using it continuously (without a time gap greater than or equal to the idle timeout), he/she can use it for 8+ hours.
