What the snmp_link monitor requires?

There is the following descriptions in the Configuration Guide for Link Controller.

 

 

"We recommend that you add at least the bigip_link and snmp_link monitors."

 

And,

 

"Tracking the health of a resource through SNMP requires that you:

 

Enable the given resource to send SNMP traps"

 

 

Then, I have two questions.

 

 

Does "the given resource" indicate the router connected with the Link Controller?

 

 

What advantage does setting the snmp_link monitor have for me?
