  • "By default, the BIG-IP system compresses log files on a daily basis and deletes archived copies that are older than eight days. Archived log files are stored in the /var/log directory "

please go through the below link , it will be a good start to understand BIGIP log files

  • However, allowing any file system (particularly /var/log or /var/lib/mysqld) to reach 100% utilization is a really bad thing that may cause your BigIP to behave really badly.

    • Don't enable debug logging for any longer than needed
    • If you want to log data from irules, use an HSL pool for off-box logging
    • clean up archives/qkviews/tcpdumps after use
