What is Layer 7 profile on f5?

What config is required to setup a layer 7 profile on f5. I have been reading Microsoft document to configure exchange and they recommended to setup layer 7 with no persistence on f5. Does Layer 7 means standard profile?

What config is needed on LTM for layer 7?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Exhange is very popular, I recommend you look around F5 resources to learn how to set up the configuration.

You may also look for iApps that will implement a typical (standard) configuration for you. One sample here: https://f5.com/solutions/deployment-guides/microsoft-exchange-server-2010-and-2013-big-ip-v11

I've updated my answer with a reference. If you want something set up fast, just use the iApp (link in the answer). If you want to learn and do the setup yourself, here's an in-depth guide for F5 BigIP configuration and consideration points: https://www.f5.com/pdf/deployment-guides/microsoft-exchange-2010-2013-iapp-dg.pdf.
