webtop applications

Forumn members

Is it possible to present non web based applications to a webtop? I'm thinking things like Windows admin tools, putty, microsoft resource kit tools and even perhaps fat clients for lob applications?

  • It is not. The webtop, and APM in general, is intended for TCP/IP-based (and specifically HTTP-based) applications. You can, however, create a network or application access tunnel (ie. SSLVPN) and then have it attempt to launch the local application, potentially with command line options.

  • Thanks Kevin. Will investigate this. I think the best option would be then to simply present a full desktop via rdp and have the necessary tools installed to that.
