Wan Optimization vs/or Web Acceleration

Hi All,

 

We are using f5 for ssl vpn and almost 750 users are connecting from remote location through broadband to accessing our internal web application. Some of users facing slow issue. For optimize broadband and web application speed which is the best method to use Web acceleration or Wan optimization.

 

Pleas advice us.

    Hi,

     

    First of all, you can optimise your Network Access profile with compression.

     

    Secondly, to optimise Web applications, you need to handle these apps from a Virtual Server on your BIGIP and apply a Web Acceleration profile.

     

    This web acceleration profile can make 2 jobs :

     

    • Cache content in BIGIP RAM (included with APM / LTM) --> RAM Cache
      • This will help the server but not the client if the broadband is bad
    • Optimise caching in client browser --> Need AAM module
      • This will help the client by caching all the content in the client side
