  • Hi,

Try with v11.4.1 HF1 with AAM dedicated on both systems. In the BIG-IP 3600, when you upgrade you can use AAM.

  • Hi,

Thanks. But for Big-IP 3600 i don't have license for AAM i only have for WOM.

  • Hi,

There's a free upgrade from WOM to AAM or from WA to AAM. You just need to upgrade the BIG-IP System.

  • Hi, Thanks. I didn't know that but 3600 only have 4Gb of RAM and by release notes of AAM 11.4.1 it seems i can only have AAM cofigured but i also need to have LTM module...

So can i have 3600 with LTM+WOM with version 11.3 in one site and in the other site 2000S with LTM+AAM with version 11.4.1 doing wan acelaration between WOM and AAM ?

  • Hi,

BIG-IP 3600 (4GB RAM) can only handle AAM Standalone (A.K.A Dedicated). The same for BIG-IP 2000s (8GB RAM) where AAM cannot be provisioned with any other module; AAM can only be provisioned standalone. There is a special thing with AAM 'cause it's one of the most demanding modules of the BIG-IP family.

So if you really want to use both LTM + WOM you must use v11.3 for both BIG-IP 3600 and BIG-IP 2000s. In this scenario the only way that you can use AAM it's in a Dedicated mode.

Please check tha last release notes for more information. http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/releasenotes/product/relnote-ltm-11-4-1.html
