WA Error Log Location?

Hello all,

I am trying to troubleshoot some errors that showing up in the "Traffic Reports" section of the Web Accelerator. I have not seen any of the errors with my own eyes, but I know they can be attributed to 503 and 404 errors according to the Web Accelerator reports. I am just trying to determine if the problem stems from the Web Accelerator or if it is just something messed up on the site.

Does anyone know the location of the log file that contains the error that is being displayed by the graph on that page? I have attached a screen shot so that you can see the graph I am talking about.

  • I'm not sure if this will help you in your case, but have a look at this SOL:

    https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/8000/900/sol8991.html

If you get a bad request or response, it will dump the headers to your pvac.log

Was very helpful in my case to isolate the problem.

It looks like we are currently running version 9.4.4. Having the information that you provided certainly helps to make the case to upgrade to the newer version.
  • An item that generates a 404 error won't necessarily be consdiered a bad request or a response so the headers will likely not be dumped to the pvac log. To see what content is generating a 404 or 503 you can enable HTTP logging in the policy. The HTTP logging along with the logging enhancement in 9.4.5 HF 2 should provide you with all the details you need on where the errors are coming from.
