VS Depends On feature - VE vs Physical Hardware

Hi Folks,

 

I was building some scripts/automation templates on WIP creation with depends on feature in my Lab environment. Fortunately I could see the Virtual servers that i can choose as depends on in my Lab.

 

But the same is not happening on one of my Physical box. Both are running the same version. 11.x. I tested in multiple versions of 11.x of Physical F5's, but the Virtual servers depends on is not showing. Instead its asking me to enter the server_name:virtual:name. How can i remember the virtual names !!!

 

The workaround i have for now is going through GUI (Of Physical F5).

 

GTM --> Servers --> Choose the server --> Virtual Servers --> Click Advanced and Choose the dependency dropdown. This is showing me the virtual servers, where as the CLI not. \

 

Is this some limitations of VE vs Physical Hardware. Anyhelp is appreciated.

    can't imagine this being a difference between virtual and physical. did you try with an equal configuration? in the second you are using an IP and not a name.

    there still is a small difference between your commands but i doubt it matters.

     

    anyway if no one here knows support is your best bet.
