Jun 18, 2010Virtual servers sharing traffic across different pools
We have created 2 standard virtual servers with 2 separate IPs (virtual address) in the same vlan. The intent is to manage application traffic to specific destination pools. Virtual server 1 has a default pool assigned and Virtual server 2 has a different pool assigned.
What we see from tcpdumps traffic connecting sent to VS1 is egressing from VS2 and sent to the default pool assigned to VS1. Of course response traffic is sent back to V2 but and leaves V1 back to the original source
The thought on how this was supposed to work for a standard Virtual server that source traffic sent to the VS1 (virtual address)would leave VS1 to the default destination pool.
Assumption
-> client -> vip1 then vip1 -> vip1 destination pool.
What we are seeing
-> client -> vip1 then Vip2 -> to vip1 destination pool.
Not sure why Vip2 would send to a destination pool that was not the default pool (or Vip1 pool).
I figure something is miconfigured or assuming incorrectly how this is supposed to work based on traversing through the documentation .
We have auto_snat and cookie persistance set.
Thanks for any input
