Virtual Server Load Balancing Reverse Proxy Servers

We have an application that has three reverse proxy servers in our DMZ that we would like to load balance. I would prefer to use the BIP-IP to perform the reverse proxy services also, however, the vendor will not approve this design. So my question is, for the Virtual Server I create, I have it monitoring https and everything is fine. Would it make more sense to utilize a "Performance" or "Stateless" virtual server instead of a standard? Any recommendations, pro's, con's are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

  • Performance VS is beneficial for FastL4 accelerated flows on a F5 with e FPGA asic. If your not doing encrypting there is some latency benefits to using this type of VS. Since your config points down to a pool of reverse proxy's I am not sure there is a great benefit in either decision. You could use a Forwarding VS to essentially route the connections to the pool of RP's.
