virtual ip and pools

Hello guys, I'm newbie on f5 devices but I think they pretty cool machine. I would like to know if anybody knows the maximum capabilities in terms of creation of vip(s) and server pools My customer would like (for several reasons) create something as 1000 vip(s) with the relative listening port, and define 3000 different destination pools? Do you think this could be possible? Thanks in advance Regards, Yuri

    Hi Yuri,

     

     

    I've seen customers running configurations with hundreds of virtual servers and hundreds of pools. But I'd be leery of assuming configuration loads and load balancing would work efficiently with thousands of VS's and pools. You might try contacting an F5 presales engineer to get sizing suggestions and possibly do an evaluation with a similarly sized configuration.

     

     

    Another thing to consider is whether you could combine some of the virtual servers and/or pools and still accomplish the same goal.
