Viprion Modules
I'm running a Viprion 2400 right now, and was wondering how many modules is recommended to run at a time in production? I have LTM and ASM activated at the moment. If I activated AAM, would that not be recommended? What is the rule of thumb on the Viprions.

Although there is not any restriction in the Resource Provisioning menu, F5 recommends to provise max 3 modules on a device. In this conditions device represents V2400's one slot.

We run Viprion 2400 with 3-4 modules installed on a vcmp guest that is using one blade without any issues. LTM/ASM/APM and AVR works just fine. the number of modules you can activate is dependent on the memory you have for them. Usually three modules should not have any issue to run on the system with one blade.

Please read the Release Notes for the BIG-IP release you are currently on for general guidance. Just how much memory a module will run out of also depends on what tasks the module is put to, and the ASM could use quite a lot - it gets allocated lots of memory anyway. Also allow for various bugs that might impact on the use of memory as well.
