VIPRION and changing boot location - configuration not copied
Hi,
I had strange issue, when changing boot location via GUI (from 12.1.1.2.0.204 to 12.1.2.2.0.276) configuration was not copied.
- Service Check Date was current - I just activated license on older version
- db liveinstall.* variables was never changed, all relevant was set to enable
After reboot even license was not active.
I am pretty sure I did such switch few times before without issue, so I am puzzled what could went wrong?
VIPRION 2400 with one B2250 installed.
I had to use clsh cpcfg --source=HD1.1 HD1.3
Then after using tmsh reboot volume HD1.3 both license and config was OK.
Any idea what I missed?

Piotr, was this on the host or a guest?

Hi,
It was host. No guests yet created.

Were there any logs from the initial boot attempt - that may provide some clues. Sometimes the config load fails, giving the appearance of no config being transferred.

Hi,
Unfortunately I was a bit in a hurry so I fall back to volume with working config and license. I know that sometimes config load fails but I did not notice any symptoms.
Anyway even if config load fails will as well licensing fail? I am pretty sure that license should not be affected - or I am wrong?
