VIP Health Monitor from URL
Hello,
We have a VIP we're trying to configure our search engine and while we can configure a health monitor that brings up the nodes in the VIP, the site is still unreachable through the VIP. There is a service that runs on two servers and that is what is called with the below two URLs. When we try to translate the server name into the name "search" in the monitor it doesn't work, meaning, we can't get the same results.
Below are the particulars:
These point to the servers where the service is actually running on each server:
https://rdsrch5.acc.org:52810/Coveosearchservice?versions https://rdsrch6.acc.org:52810/Coveosearchservice?versions
Either the above in a browser returns the below in the browser:
7.0
7.0.1
7.0.2
7.0.3
7.0.4
7.0.5
7.0.6
7.0.7
7.0.8
7.0.9
7.0.10
7.0.11
7.0.12
7.0.13
7.0.14
7.0.15
7.0.16
7.0.17
7.0.18
7.0.19
When we enter the below URL in the VIP health monitor with a receive string of "7.0" (no quotes), nothing is returned, the browser spins and never resolves to anything. We do have DNS pointing to the VIP IP.
GET https://search.acc.org:52810/Coveosearchservice?versions
Soooo, I'm trying to understand how to create a health monitor that recognizes the nodes are up as well as allow the LB functionality. Is anyone able to help me with this?
Thanks in advance.
Diane

Hi,
First, did you add the snat setting to automap ?
Then, you should add your health monitor at the pool level so pool members inherit health checks
