Vcmp Host and Guest Version (best practice)

Hi all. I would like to ask a question regarding an upgrade we are planning to proceed.Currently Host and guests running the same version 12.1.2.HF1 on Big-IP 5250V platforms. I found the K14088: vCMP host and compatible guest version matrix which shows the compatibility matrix for all platforms. My question is if it is recommended (best practice) to always have host and guests running the same version ? If this is not true,can someone provide me with an article which suggests the most stable versions for VCMP hosts ? Thanks in advance.

    i do not. i do upgrade host version only when it is necessary e.g. fixing bug, new feature needed.
