Using F5 LTM to load balance BlueCoat ASG devices spread across two DC's

We have a BC proxy device in each DC and would like to load balance using F5 while preserving the source IP. Questions are:

 

What load balancing algorithm is advised Keep alive - Will pinging the BC suffice are we go further and try some external sites Source IP preservation Is there any doco either from Symantec or F5

    Best load balance method for cache servers are "destination address load balance method". I just want to updadte you that it is not best option to load balance different DC proxy servers using LTM.
