Upgrade VCMP tenant from BIG-IQ
Hi,
I've a BIG-IQ V8.2 from which I plan to upgrade to a latest version some VCMP tenants inside a i5800 platform runnning in V 14.1.4
When performing the upgrade procedure from BIG-IQ at Device > Sw Management > SW installations , I select the new image and add the new VCMP tenant into the target devices for loading the new firmware. Everything works fine so the new image gets loaded into the tenant.
Problem: When looking into the tenant's image list, all previous images are marked with an image source = host, like if they were located into the i5800 host, but my new uploaded image is marked as "local" since the BIG-IQ uploaded the image straight into the tenant's local file system instead of the i5800.
That's the only way I find to carry out the upgrade while leveraging the benefits of the BIG-IQ pre & post-assessment features. But I cannot find the way to tell the BIG-IQ to upload the tentant's image indirectly through the i5800.
Could I swap the tenant's new local image with a host image at some point once the upgrade is completed?
Regards in advance.
Better add the image to be present on the F5 vCMP host as if for example a blade where the quest is created has an issue and you replace the blade the vCMP host will be unable to provision the vCMP quest.

You can check this feature how to transfer image from the host to guest from BIG-IQ using F5 BIG-IQ bash script :

You may try similar script to transfer the image from BIG-IQ to the vCMP host and then run this script.
