Upgrade F5 Big-IP 1500 firmware

Hi all.     I have two BIG-IP 1500 one with 9.2.3 firmware and another with 9.1.2 firmware   First I want to know can I failover them via network interface (not R232 interface).   ...

I believe you can apply hotfixes, but if you are upgrading versions you will need a support contract, even with lab equipment.
