Upgrade an Virtual F5 edition.
Folks,
I need some help with documentation on upgrading a Virtual F5 device.
We are running "12.1.3.6" and we are looking at an upgrade to "12.1.5" to resolve a config sync issue that we are facing.
The major challenge I have is that unlike the physical device this virtual device shows only one partition. i.e. HD1.1
How would you folks recommend on going through with this upgrade?
Thanks!!
Neel.
Hi Neel
Just create a new volume (.2 instance) when you install the software.
Instructions can be found here - https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K34745165 - look for the section "installing a software image, point release, or hotfix"

That's the nice thing about upgrades, creating a new partition with the new code which is then booted from. If something goes sour, you can reboot using the original partition. I include the software version in partition names for quicker reference but, that's me.
