UP grading LC from 9.4.6 to the latest IOS

Hi everyone,

 

I have a F5-LC 1500 memory=2Gig running the IOS 9.4.6 now I am planning to upgrade these boxes to the latest IOS which is 11.1.0 along with all the hot-fixes, I want to know if it is possible to upgrade these boxes to 11.1.0 will this platform support the newer version of IOS secondly if it is not going to support the latest version of IOS then which is the max. latest version it may support. and will the configuration file backed up on the existing IOS 9.4.6 will be useable on the upgraded IOS platform.
