isn't it "passwd root" to reset password?

Hi Nitass,
We cannot modify the password because of MCPD cannot connect? Any idea on MCPD?

Just to clarify, you should not be using tmsh to try to change the password, use the Bash shell instead.

You don't need MCPD to change the root password. F5 reads it from the UNIX system which is underneath the F5 TMOS. Execute in TMSH
, once in bash prompt, execute the second command to update root account passwordrun util bash
. I just changed my root password with MCPD process stopped, no issues. Give it a try.passwd root - Goldz_180077

Still the credit for posting the solution first goes to What Lies Beneath. Sometimes the previous answers don't show up :(. Good luck!
