Turning on APM production LTM

This should be a quick question... Famous last words. I am running a pair of 5050s running 12.1.2, I have a license for APM and AVR. I want to turn them on and NEED to know if my system is going to need to restart. First, if it does need to restart is it going to tell me that or is it just going to restart when I hit submit after turning it on and provisioning it. I have seen conflicting info online. One article says provision then reboot, another said you should be fine after turning on APM. Not as concerned about AVR as APM. Unscheduled reboot would be BAD.
