Traffic routing with GTM

Hi,

 

Is it possible to route traffic through a GTM only appliance? I have DNS resolver behind a GTM and I'd like to allow them to get their OS updates through the GTM. Apparently Listener can only be used for DNS. On LTM I would have used virtual-server for this, but on GTM I don't know...

 

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Christophe,

     

    Traffic actually doesn't flow through GTM. It is like an intelligent DNS server which would respond to client with the best available service.

     

    So in your case, you can start with creating a wideip on GTM and add VIP of the LTM as its pool member.

     

    But unless you have the DNS servers across different datacentres, adding a GTM in the traffic flow wouldnt make much sense.
