Traffic Intelligence
- Oct 21, 2024
Hi David,
I found this technical document off F5 website on where to find the list of applications that PEM/Traffic Intelligence supports. Updating Signatures for Application Recognition.
It doesn't explain the list per se but it explains how (PEM) can recognize, through Traffic Intelligence. PEM, a predefined set of signatures for common applications and application categories that are updated periodically.
You can also log into an SSH client to access your F5 system and run these commands. It can provide you with a list of applications that PEM is currently configured to recognize and manage.- Execute tmsh Commands: Use the following command to display the applications recognized by PEM
tmsh show /pem application - Export the List: To save the list to a file, you can use:
tmsh list /pem application > pem_applications.txt
You can also log into the GUI to check the list of applications.
- Log into the F5 BIG-IP Configuration utility.
- Navigate to the PEM module.
- Explore Application Visibility: Look for sections or tabs related to application visibility or traffic intelligence. These areas usually provide detailed lists and configuration options for supported applications.
If these methods do not meet your needs, or if you require more specific or detailed information, contacting F5 Support directly is recommended. They can provide tailored assistance and ensure you have access to the most up-to-date and accurate information.
Cheers,Mo

Hi David_Pinto , can I know if you're running on strictly BIG-IP PEM, or an APM with a PEM module, and which software version are you running on?
Thanks!
Hi MoFaz , I'm using PEM as a module (not stand alone instance). The version is BIG-IP 16.1.2.2 Build 0.0.28 Point Release 2.
