Topology load balancing understanding

We have 2 DC and each DC having one VIP. WE created GTM with topology load balancing, My question is if any one VIP goes down, F5 will route all traffic to other VIP which is UP or still it will send as per topology method.

    Topology method has added with many function, in above basic senerio I would recommend to go with primary n last resort option in GTM or Ratio method.
