Threshold of Overheat

I've got a couple of F5 LTMs that intermittantly alarming with threshold of overheat exceeded: current value 45.000000. I've checked the physical environment of the devices and the air flow it clear and the racks are in a hot/cold aisle config.

 

What is the F5 measuring to get the overheat value, cpu, internal box temp? What else besides air flow would affect this and what is the recommended high threshold value?

    I'm not sure that there is more information published than the "Platform Guide" for your specific appliance. You can find it on AskF5.

     

    There's a chapter "Platform specifications" that contain the information about operating temp.range etc. There have been a few SOL published about fan not having enough speed and causing false alarming about temperature.

     

    I would suggest you to open a support case, if your environmental conditions are fine.
