The question about TCP monitor on the GTM

Hi All,

 

The default value in the TCP monitor on the GTM is,

 

  • Interval : 30 sec
  • Timeout : 120 sec

I know that the Timeout value should be three times the Interval value. But the Interval value on the GTM is not.

 

That is four times.

 

And the following manual mention that the Timeout value should be three times the Interval value.

My questions,

 

  1. Why the default value of timeout is not 121? erratum in the manual?
  2. If I modify the interval in the TCP monitor to 60 seconds, the value timeout should be 240 second?

    The timers in GTM monitors do not mean the same thing as they do in LTM monitors (if you are familiar with those). See this SOL8170.

     

    There is no fixed requirement for the timeout-interval relationship. Some are 2-to-1 some are 3-to-1 and some are 4-to-1 for the default GTM monitors.
