test email is working, email alert on any pool member down.

I have configured mailhub and received test email.

I want email alert if any pool member goes down. Can someone tell me what to write in /config/user_alert.conf To irfan.khan@xxx from F5_admin@mobilink.net.pk body "specify the name of pool member"

Please help

  • This Is the log I get but did note get email alert. why? Dec 5 10:30:59 www notice mcpd[6852]: 01070640:5: Node /Common/tbpems02 address 10.50.169.15 monitor status down. [ /Common/ICMP: down ] [ was up for 0hr:28mins:1sec ]
  • So this is one I have setup, where core_restart_watch part of log text that will be written to /var/log/ltm

    alert BIGIP_CORE_FOUND "core_restart_watch" {
       email toaddress="mayemail@domain.com"
       fromaddress="sentfrom@domaing.com"
       body="Core file has been found"
    }

    I believe you would have to create a seperate alert for each pool

      It started working for me alert Tibco-LB-Group20 "Pool (.*?) member (.*?) monitor status down." { email toaddress="irfan.khan@techaccesspak.com" fromaddress="f5admin@mobilink.net" body="Warning: Pool member is down Please Look into it" } But I am receiving email on every pool member down. How to configure that if pool name contains Tibco then mail to one group and if pool name contains Siebel then mail to another group
  • So if your log looks like this

    Dec 5 01:23:13 bigip err tmm1[16283]: 01010028:3: No members available for pool /Common/xml-broker-https
    then your alert line would look something like this
    alert Tibco-LB-Group20 "No members available for pool /Common/xml-broker-https" {

    This will work, but you will have to create an alert for every pool. Now it may be possible to use icall if you have access to it (v11.4 or later required) to execute the email and make it more dynamic but I haven't tried that.
