SSL VPN PERFORMANCE

Hi all,

We are using F5 4000 as a SSL VPN, Currently more the 700 users are connecting F5 SSL VPN from remote location through broadband. Initially remote users facing slow performance issue on accessing application via f5 ssl vpn, then we had changed the client profile to – tcp-wan optimized and server profile to tcp-lan optimized on virtual server on APM which was advised by one of devcentral member. After the change we get only few calls related to slow issue and there is performance improvement.

After Google we find something like client rate class, Bandwidth Controller and compression for performance tuneup, Pls share which option or any fine-tune-up settings to improve the performance on client side.

Remote location details 2 MB brand connection / 4 system’s share the broadband connection. Client OS is win7 and browser is IE8 to IE 10

Regards, Mariappn S

  • We faced big performance issues when using wan oriented tcp profiles. Precisely, Nagle algorithm was the root cause

Moreover, you can try changing supported ssl ciphers on clientside to faster ciphers (but weakest...). It can help sometimes to grab some milliseconds.

Is your internet connection fully used ?
