SSL Mutual Authentication
Can someone please explain client based certification and it's impact for mutual SSL authentication? It's my understanding that at some point F5 was the only vendor with Proxy SSL. So does this basically work like MIM?

You can refer to this -- https://devcentral.f5.com/articles/ssl-profiles-part-8-client-authentication
The Big-IP acts as an SSL proxy, so you get the client and the server side SSL connections distinguished from each other.
That link should help with some primers on how F5 implements this.
Have fun.
