The private key is used to generate the CSR. Who/what generated the CSR? The key will be there. For instance, if you clicked Renew in the F5 web interface to get your CSR, then yes, that is the private key you need.

 

And no, the CSR is not the private key, and cannot be used to obtain the private key.
