SMTP redirection

Hi guys, I've got question related with changes in SMTP configuration. Currently I have got VIP with SMTP as services (port 25) and few servers in the pool. I have been asked to point F5 virtual server to another SMTP server (external) - servers from the pool will be disabled. Please could you advice some irule do it?

    You don't need an iRule for this task. Simply create a new SMTP Pool for the external SMTP-Server and then change your Virtual Server configuration to use this newly created pool.

     

    Alternatively, you could also add the external SMTP-Server to the existing pool and deactivate the existing pool members. The outcome would be the same...

     

    Note: Depending on the network integration of your LTM. It may be additionaly required to enable Source-NAT for the external SMTP-Server to not end up in a asymetric communication.
